Replaceable blade hunting knives have certainly sliced their way into the market (pun intended) and are here to stay. The Razor Blaze knife is one of the most recent offerings from Outdoor Edge and most certainly made an impression on Guy when he used it this fall. Though the Razor Blaze is heavier than its competitors, it’s vastly stronger. Read: no more snapped blades.
One of the things we liked the most is that the cutting edge runs the entire length to the handle. This design improvement eliminates a catch point for hide and hair, making your skinning chores much easier. The blade disengages with a simple push of a button so you can just as easily snap a new one into place. You don’t need pliers to swap blades (remember Occam’s Razor). In a pinch, these blades can also be sharpened on a stone in the field. The rubber handle is a perfect compliment to one of the ideal hunting knives. MSRP: $49.95. Blade length: 3.5 in. Weight: 3.6 oz. OAL: 8 in. To find a dealer go to http://www.outdooredge.com/
