My son at age 14 shot his first elk 4 years ago with one of my custom rifles using my Kestral and a Sig scope, the shot on that 4×5 bull was 870 yards and it never knew what hit it, dropped in its tracks ! Childs play so simple !
Getting big trophy unit tags is the pinnacle now. I love my $700 kennetrek boots and my $2800 of Sitka and kuiu pants and shirts / jackets etc cause it’s great gear and makes hunting all day and sometimes 2-3 days simple compared to just 30 years ago.
Even my archery gear is a joke – 330 fps, $22 arrows and $14 broad heads each but they are near perfect !
Both my ATVs and my Polaris SXS make it so easy to access things and every trailhead in perfect comfort ! Ethical – that was 35 years ago ! Modern hunting is drawing “trophy units” Running 40 miles a day to get in shape for back country hunting, competing in 90-100 yard shot archery events with a $3000-$4000 bow and $300 release and $400 of arrows at ski resorts in summer then post it on u tube or some garbage personal promotional website/social media !
