Never content to rest upon success, the team at Eberlestock realized that serious backcountry hunters often want a pack that’s “plug and play,” an “outofthe box” and gohunt design that offers everything they need with zero guesswork. Enter the Brute series of packspurposebuilt to get you into the steep and deep with zero compromise.

The Eberlestock Brute series is a departure from the company’s lauded EMOD system. The Brute series features robust aluminum frames, integral and adjustable builtin load shelves, elevated load lifters, micro-adjustable shoulder harness, cradle hip belt with stabilizers, detachable and adjustable lid, rolltop closure with zipper access to main compartment, a spotting scope pocket and is riflescabbardready (an Eberlestock standard). Oh, it’s also available in four sizes: Scout, 3500, 4500 and 6500the numbered models representing cubicinch capacity and the versions backcountry hunters will lean toward.

Brute 3500

This pack is the version I chose since most of my hunts fall in the oneto threeday category. It keeps all my kit well organized and is light enough to work very well as a day pack, too.

  • Oneto twoday excursions
  • 3500 c.i.
  • 6lbs. 4oz.
  • 26”H x 10.5”W x 7”D

Brute 4500

This is the “sweet spot” for most huntersbig enough to haul two to four days worth of kit and light enough and adaptable enough to serve as a dayhauler once camp is set up. Twoto fourday excursions.

  • 4500 c.i.
  • 6lbs. 11oz.
  • 26”H x 11.5”W x 10”D

Brute 6500

The expeditionstyle pack in the Brute line. Think long marches into deep country, lugging everything you need to hunt effectively for a week. However, don’t let its voluminous capacity fool you, it’s still light and nimble enough to keep the pounds down and miles racking up.

  • Extended Backcountry Adventures
  • 6500 c.i.
  • 6lbs. 13oz.
  • 35”H x 12”W x 10”D

Each of the Brute series models boasts wellthoughtout pockets and organization compartments to keep essential gear at the ready without burying items deep inside the main compartment. I love how I can load up my camp items like tent, sleep system, stove and other sundries inside the bag and stash rain gear, gloves, headlamps, first aid kit, etc., in the outside zipper pockets for quick access.

Eberlestock just keeps getting better, and I love how each new design can be traced to personal experiences gleaned from hard days hunting the West. The Brute series certainly lives up to its namestrong and durable yet light and capable. Check out the full Brute line at eberlestock.com.
