Draining The Duck Factory?

Last week U.S.F.W.S advanced a proposal to examine tile setbacks in America’s duck factory. The potential for this to devastate already limited breeding, nesting and brood rearing habitat is concerning at minimum and would be devastating to waterfowl production at best.

The sad thing about all of this is that we already have appropriate protocols and tile setbacks in place. Many of which were bought and paid for by American waterfowl hunters and have existed for 60 years.

I understand the need to examine governmental procedures and practices from time to time but this one must not be tinkered with. I’m old enough to remember when American waterfowlers shared a deep and legitimate concern over the prairies pothole region drying up. That’s been a minute and life’s been good these past 20 years or so but all it takes is bad policy and a year or two of drought and things get bleak fast!

Sign the petitions and do your part to protect our ducks!
