Arizona: Copper State Draw – More Chances To Hunt!

This week the Arizona Department of Game and Fish announced another round of limited-entry drawings for permits with special seasons. Now dubbed the “Copper State Draw” these tags are separate from the draw for general permits and no bonus points are awarded if you are unsuccessful nor are bonus points surrendered if you successfully draw a tag.

Although the department has not released what permits will be offered through the Copper State Draw, in the past these permits have included prime rut periods for Coues’ and mule deer and winter range hunts for elk.

Usually only a few permits are issued for each species with varying clusters of units and dates that are not open to other hunts.

The Copper State Draw website will open for applications on April 2 and remain open through April 8.
