The People Say NO! – Colorado Proposition 127 Defeated

Proposition 127 was a thinly veiled attempt to strip Colorado’s people of their hunting privileges, beginning with what would have amounted to a ban on hunting mountain lions. Well, the people of Colorado stepped up and defeated Proposition 127 with around 55.5% of votes saying NO! Even so, over a million people voted “YES” on Prop 127, which is a reminder of just how hard we all have to fight for our hunting and 2nd Amendment rights in every single election.

It seems that the people of Colorado have had enough of being pushed around by Boulder and Denver and have learned a valuable lesson about just how important voting is from the great Colorado wolf debacle that has now cost the taxpayers of Colorado $4.8 Million.

With the defeat of Proposition 127 the people of Colorado have sent a message, they want wildlife professionals managing wildlife, not urbanite opinion. With the big cat’s population growing and conflicts with humans on the rise, Coloradans saw the need for science-based wildlife management and made it happen. It turns out that people aren’t keen on the idea of lions eating their pets and stalking their kids… shocker!

If I could insert that Jeremiah Johnson nodding GIF into this blog I would… good for you Colorado, nicely done.
