General Areas Inhabited by Gray Wolves in Colorado – June Update

By Dave Shaffer

Collared gray wolf activity recorded by CPW from May 21 – June 25, 2024

Above is an updated map just published by Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) showing where collared wolves have been in the past month.

Notable Updates
  • In June, wolves stayed relatively in the same watershed areas as in April and May. The activity map shows minor differences in wolf movement for the month.
  • Wolves remain above I-70 even though the two watershed areas highlighted are slightly below the I-70 highway line.
  • Our biologists confirmed at least one wolf pup in Grand County during our routine wolf monitoring efforts, which included air and ground observations, remote cameras, and investigating public sightings.

For comparison, below is the map for the previous month.
