Winter is a very tough time for deer, elk, an moose. It is often spent feeding and resting to conserve energy and body fat to survive the harsh conditions. Many monarchs don’t make it through the winter after a hard fall and rut. The last thing they need is to have dogs harassing them as they try to make it through the winter.
