General Areas Inhabited by Gray Wolves in Colorado – July Update

Collared gray wolf activity recorded by CPW from  June 25 – July 23, 2024

Above is an updated map just published by Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) showing where collared wolves have been in the past month.

Notable Updates

  • In July, wolves stayed relatively in the same watershed areas as in June and May. The July activity map shows minor differences in wolf movement for the month.
  • Nine of the 10 reintroduced wolves are still alive, with one confirmed breeding pair and one confirmed pup. The two wolves in Colorado before the reintroduction are still alive and in Colorado.
  • Wolves remain north of I-70 even though the watershed areas highlighted are slightly south of the I-70 highway line.

For comparison, below is the map for the previous month.

  1. Minnesota used to have thousands of moose and a few wolves.. now we have thousands of wolves and a few moose.. and the annual moose season is closed permanently. Best of luck, Colorado resident fools..

  2. They’re getting closer to the Wyoming border. They have no protections in the southern part of Wyoming.

  3. It won’t be but a few years before Colorado ‘s moose are gone. Wolfs will destroy the herd.
